About Rachel
Our Creator knocks quietly at your door. Will you welcome Him in?
As a child, I had faith in God. I was baptized as an infant, made my first communion at age 8, and prayed to God before bed. During my teen years, I forgot about God. When I started college at the age of 18, I suppose it is accurate to say I was agnostic. But by the time I finished my bachelor’s degree, and started my PhD in microbiology, I actively began to reject God. I began to believe that the “stories” of the bible were fictional.
Thankfully, I met my husband while in graduate school. I believe his strong faith in God opened me back up to belief in a single creator of the universe. I graduated with my PhD in microbiology and cell science from The University of Florida in 2020. I took a job as a postdoctoral researcher for a small company out of Fort Collins, CO. After nine months at this company, I decided to quit the sciences and move back to Florida, where I become a stay-at-home mother to my newborn son.
Two years later, during the Lenten season of 2022, I had an encounter with The Holy Trinity that moved me from agnosticism to recognizing God’s true existence and presence in my life.
I draw now, to give my thanks to God for bringing me back. I hope that my drawings inspire others who have fallen asleep, to come back to Our Heavenly Father.
