The Way, The Truth, and The Life
I have drawn many images of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. I think this one may be my favorite, though. I chose to draw this image of Jesus Christ as a healthy, lively, 33 year-old. Much artwork of Jesus Christ depicts Him on the cross, or during His passion. I have also drawn these images. But…I also like to imagine Our Lord and Savior as a happy, young man, who smiled and enjoyed life on this earth with His disciples. I wanted to convey the more human side of him through my artwork. For me personally, I feel drawn closer to Him when I think of Him in this way. It is very humbling, and at the same time, profound, to think that our creator, The Most High, became one of His own creations, and walked in this world among us. I hope that gazing upon this image may do the same for you.

John 14: 5-7
“Thomas said to him, ‘Lord, we don’t know where you are going, so how can we know the way?’ Jesus answered, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.If you really know me, you will know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him.’”

Information on The Shroud of Turin: The Shroud of Turin (Italian: Sindone di Torino), also known as the Holy Shroud (Italian: Sacra Sindone), is a length of linen cloth that bears a faint image of the front and back of a naked man. Because details of the image are consistent with traditional depictions of Jesus of Nazareth after his death by crucifixion, the shroud has been venerated for centuries, especially by members of the Catholic Church, as Jesus's actual burial shroud upon which his image was miraculously imprinted. The human image on the shroud can be discerned more clearly in a black and white photographic negative than in its natural sepia color, an effect discovered in 1898 by Secondo Pia, who produced the first photographs of the shroud. This negative image is associated with a popular Catholic devotion to the Holy Face of Jesus.
